Virgin Galactic continues to plan space travel, and is also working on spacecraft that should significantly speed up travel on Earth.
They recently introduced a new super-fast travel aircraft that can accommodate up to 19 passengers, and which transports passengers at speeds three times the speed of sound. The company has also announced a partnership with Rolls-Royce, which will be in charge of engines that should be housed in aircraft like this in the future.
The concept is now ready for the next phase of development, in which experts will deal with the way the spacecraft will operate, and possible problems such as emissions, noise and economy.
It should be noted that this is not the only aircraft of this type. Startup Boom Supersonic has already announced testing of a prototype supersonic spacecraft called the Overture, so the first flights are expected as early as 2021, while the original model should take off in 2025, CNN reports.
